IGNOU's 38th convocation on March 5; Dharmendra Pradhan to attend as chief guest

IGNOU Convocation 2025: Students will be able to collect their degrees, diplomas, and certificates from regional centres the day after the event.
NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will conduct its 38th convocation at the convention centre, IGNOU headquarters, Maidan Garhi, Delhi on March 5, 2025. The event will also take place at selected regional centres across the country. Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will attend the event as the chief guest at the headquarters in New Delhi.
As per the official notification, IGNOU’s regional centres will invite eligible students to the convocation who have registered and paid the required fee. The deadline for fee payment is February 25, 2025. “The Regional Centres will invite the eligible students who have paid the requisite fee by 25th February 2025 and given their consent to attend the convocation,” the official notification read.
The university further informed that the regional centre may decide about the programmes for which students are to be invited to the convocation. The student evaluation division (SED) has also sent an email to regional centres, instructing them to invite only students from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the convocation, preferably.

Degree collection details
Students will be able to collect their degrees, diplomas, and certificates from regional centres the day after the convocation. The same can also be sent by post to the addresses provided on the online portal. The following students can collect their certificates:

Those who have paid Rs 600 at regional centres where the convocation will not be held.

Those invited to the convocation but unable to attend.

Those who were eligible but not invited.
The online portal for registration and fee payment will remain open till February 25, 2025. Eligible students who have not yet paid Rs 600 per certificate can do so through onlineservices.ignou.ac.in/convocation when the portal is active.
