IGNOU: Interested students can apply for the Best Innovation Award 2024 under various themes till October 15.

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites applications for the ‘Best Innovation Award 2024’. Interested students who are currently enrolled at the university are eligible to apply for the award nomination. As per the guidelines, the deadline for submitting entries for the innovation award is October 15.
The three awardees will be honored with certificates, trophies, and cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000, and Rs 5,000, respectively. All the students will be invited to the IGNOU headquarters in Delhi to receive their awards.
The student innovators will gain support and mentorship including training opportunities to help them refine their innovations and take them to the next level, claimed the press release.
The annual award of the IGNOU was started in 2018 by the National Centre for Innovation in Distance Education (NCIDE) which is then awarded to the top three student innovators.

Selected students will also get the chance to participate in competitions organized by the ministry and other institutions.
The guidelines as per an official IGNOU notice for innovation award are as follows.
Interested students can apply through email at ncide@ignou.ac.in. As per the guidelines, no hard copies, handwritten copies, or scanned copies will be accepted.
Selected students will be required to give an online presentation of their innovation, its development process, its working, etc.
After the IGNOU results are declared winners will be informed individually as well as on the IGNOU website.
The themes of innovations include health care and biomedical devices, agriculture and rural development, food processing and packaging, smart transport and traffic management, and renewable and affordable energy etc.
