NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) final answer key 2024 has been issued ahead of the UGC NET result 2024. Candidates who appeared for the June session exam can check the UGC NET answer key 2024 on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. UGC NET 2024 results will be prepared on the basis of the final answer key.
Candidates do not require login credentials to download the final answer key. The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued the provisional UGC NET answer key on September 9 and 11 and students were able to raise objections by September 14.
Over 9 lakh candidates appeared for the UGC NET June 2024 conducted between August 21 and September 4. The exam initially held on June 18 was cancelled after the education ministry received inputs that the question paper was leaked on DarkNet.
NTA UGC NET result 2024 will be announced for a total of 83 subjects. The NET scores will be used for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment of assistant professor in Indian universities and colleges, and admission to PhD programmes.

The UGC NET 2024 result, as declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will be final. There will be no provision for revaluation of the UGC NET 2024 results.
Candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) are required to score 35% in both papers to qualify the UGC NET 2024 exam.
There is no limit on the number of attempts for the UGC NET exam. Candidates seeking to qualify for the position of assistant professor can take the exam as often as they wish. However, for eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates must be under the age of 30 and can only attempt the exam while they fall within this age limit.
In order to pass UGC NET June 2024, candidates belonging to the general category need a minimum of 45% marks while SC, ST, OBC candidates will require 35% marks.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) doesn't usually release the data on the number of candidates who clear the UGC NET exam. However, it does inform how many candidates registered and appeared for the exam in every session. In the last session, a total of 9,45,872 candidates registered of which 6,95,928 took the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET).
The cut-off marks for UGC NET 2024 are 45% for candidates belonging to the general category and 35% marks for reserved category candidates.
Candidates who secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, third gender) in master's degree or equivalent exam from recognized universities or institutions are eligible for UGC NET exam.

The raw scores obtained by the candidates in the UGC NET June 2024 will be normalised into percentile scores with the help of the NTA normalization process, as the exam was held in multiple shifts.
