IGNOU’s School of Journalism and New Media Studies has introduced the PG diploma course from the July session.

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a postgraduate diploma in digital media (PGDIDM) in the School of Journalism and New Media Studies (SOJNMS) through open and distance mode.
The last date to apply to the PG Diploma in digital media is July 31. The students can apply on this portal: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
The duration of PG diploma in digital media is one year and the minimum eligibility criterion is a bachelor’s degree in any subject.
“The PG Diploma in digital media aims to facilitate learners on three specific domains of the emerging information and communication technology-enabled new media platforms - conceptual framework on digital media, online and digital journalism practices and internet research techniques through big data analytics and data mining,” says a statement from IGNOU.
Nageshwar Rao, vice chancellor, IGNOU highlighted the role of digital media in today's world. He complimented the school for the launch of the programme and said that it provides skills and offers employment which is in line with the new education policy.
Recently, IGNOU launched PG courses in information security and entrepreneurship.
