IIIT Bangalore, SAP Labs to carry out joint research in digital technologies

NEW DELHI: The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Bangalore) has signed an agreement with SAP Labs India for continuous upskilling of the former’s employees. The collaboration also aims at strengthening bilateral knowledge exchange between academia and industry.

As per the agreement, the IIIT Bangalore and SAP will also carry out joint research on relevant industrial topics and challenges which will further help in continuous upskilling on niche technology topics.

SAP Labs said it has cultivated a robust partnership with IIIT Bangalore through several programmes. “SAP Labs India along with IIIT-B helps in advancing employees’ competencies in artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) through executive programmes,” it added.

Highlighting the role of continuous upskilling in digital technologies, Debabrata Das, director of IIIT Banglore, said the institute was playing a pivotal role in advancing India's aspiration of achieving a $1 trillion digital economy by 2026.

SAP Labs in India has collaborated with several institutions, including IIIT-Bangalore, PSG Institute of Technology and many others to bridge the industry-academia gap and ensure the technology workforce is future-ready to drive innovation while ensuring business efficiency and delightful customer experiences.

IIIT-B is a NAAC A+ accredited institute with excellence in teaching and research programmes in information technology, including computer science and engineering, electronics and communication and digital technologies. The collaboration between IIIT Bangalore and SAP Labs has helped in deep research and engagement to build technical journals and publications.
