IIIT Delhi BTech Course Launch: As per the eligibility criteria, 70% aggregate is required in five subjects, including physics, chemistry, and mathematics in Class 12.

NEW DELHI: The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi has launched a new BTech programme in Computer Science and Economics (CSEcon). The IIIT Delhi BTech programme in CSEcon aims to integrate computational and quantitative skills with economic analysis, preparing students for careers in finance, banking, consulting, technology, and IT services. Admission for IIIT Delhi BTech CSEcon programme will be based on JEE Mains 2025 scores and Class 12 marks.
Graduates of the IIIT Delhi BTech CSEcon course can explore roles such as data scientists, economic analysts, financial engineers, business intelligence analysts, and software developers in sectors like fintech, e-commerce, banking, NGOs, and consulting. As per IIIT Delhi, the BTech program will also prepare them for leadership roles in technology-driven business environments or further studies in economics, finance, data science, or computer science
The eligibility criteria for IIIT Delhi BTech CSEcon programme are as follows
The IIIT Delhi BTech CSEcon programme spans four years, with coursework divided into core subjects and electives.
Years 1 and 2: Students will take foundational courses in computer science, economics, and mathematics. As per IIIT Delhi, candidates will also develop communication skills through professional speaking and writing courses.
Years 3 and 4: Advanced training will include elective courses across three categories:
Interdisciplinary courses: Blending computer science and economics (example- econometrics with machine learning).
Economics electives: Topics like ‘behavioural economics’ and ‘financial economics.’
Computer science and mathematics electives: Courses such as ‘statistical machine learning."
