IIM Ahmedabad PGP Placements 2023: 280 offers; McKinsey top recruiter
IIM Ahmedabad Placements 2023: McKinsey & Company made 34 offers followed by BCG with 33 offers. Goldman Sachs made 8, Adani made 10 offers.

NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has successfully completed the placements 2023 for the students of the PostGraduate Programme (PGP) in management. McKinsey & Company turned out to be the top recruiter with 34 roles. A total of 188 companies participated in the placement process offering 280 roles. The institute has not disclosed the average package.
The placement process was conducted in two stages with first being laterals process where the companies interviewed students with prior work experience and offered them mid-level managerial positions and the second stage being finals where the companies were divided into cohorts.

34 companies participated in the laterals process including Amagi, American Express, Angel One, Arteria Technologies, BrowserStack, Capital One, EXL Service, FinIQ, Lodha Group, Media.net, Microsoft, Ola, Paytm, Piramal Alternatives, Praxis Global Alliance, PwC, Trident Limited and Zomato, etc.
IIM Ahmedabad also saw new recruiters such as Essar Group, cult.fit, Javis, BLS International, Wells Fargo & Co and WestBridge Capital, etc.
Domain-wise top recruiters
Top recruiters in the consulting domain include Arthur D Little, Alvarez & Marsal, Bain & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Kearney, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman, Praxis Global Alliance, PwC and Strategy& Middle East, etc.
Top recruiters in the investment banking and markets and private equity, venture capital, and asset management space included A91 Partners, Arpwood Capital, ARGA Investment, Avendus, Bank of America, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase & Co, Kotak, Morgan Stanley, Premji Invest, o3 Capital, and Standard Chartered, among others.

Consumer goods, consumer services, consumer tech, and consumer electronics cohorts’ saw firms such as Airtel, Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, HUL, Kimberly-Clark, L’Oréal, Nestle, P&G, Samsung Electronics and Wipro Consumer Care, etc.
The Conglomerate and Retail B2B & B2C cohorts saw participation from companies like Amazon, Adani Group, Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj, CK Birla Group, Emaar, Reliance and Tata Administrative Services. The Banking, Financial Services & Insurance, and Cards & Financial Advisory recruiters included American Express, Angel One, IDFC First Bank, IIFL Securities and Mastercard. Some prominent recruiters in Enterprise Tech that gave offers were Adobe, Atlassian, Ikigai Labs and Oracle.
Highest job offers
The highest offers were made by McKinsey & Company followed by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) with 33 offers. Among the investment banks, Goldman Sachs was the largest recruiter (including PPOs), making 8 offers, followed by o3 Capital with 3 offers.

In the General Management domain, Adani made the highest number of offers (including the pre-placement offers) with 10 offers, followed by Essar Group with 8 offers. In the IT Consulting cohort, Tata Consultancy Services was the highest recruiter, with 10 offers (including PPOs). In the Laterals process, PwC made the highest number of offers -13, followed by FinIQ-10 offers. Also, American Express and Angel One rolled out 6 offers each.
Increase in offers
In IIM Ahmedabad placements this year, the conglomerate cohort witnessed a 135 percent increase in the number of net offers; the private equity, venture capital and asset management cohort saw almost 19% increase; and the cards and financial advisory cohort saw a 20% increase.
