IIM Amritsar opens admissions for 2-year EMBA for working professionals; admission via CAT, GMAT

The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM Amritsar) has opened admissions for its two-year Executive MBA programme for the academic year 2026-28. The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme is designed for working professionals looking to boost their roles in the global business environment.

Candidates will be given admission to the EMBA programme through an IIM Amritsar Admission Test (IAAT). Working professionals will also be admitted on the basis of their Common Admission Test (CAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) scores.

The programme is eligible for working professionals from mid-career managers to senior leaders and entrepreneurs.

Before applying through the IIM Amritsar’s official website at iimamritsar.ac.in, interested professionals should note that they should have a working experience from three to over fifteen years across industries such as information technology, consulting, banking and financial services, energy, manufacturing and the public sector, IIM Amritsar said in an official statement.

IIM Amritsar EMBA Admissions 2026: 3-day Denmark Immersion

Sharing insights about the EMBA programme, Samir K Srivastava, director, IIM Amritsar said: “The Executive MBA is designed to cultivate globally aware, ethically grounded leaders who can interpret complexity and act with clarity. By integrating international immersion, applied learning and rigorous academic inquiry, we continue to advance our commitment to excellence and future-ready leadership.”

The curriculum for the EMBA at IIM Amritsar includes a three-day international immersion programme in Denmark, developed in partnership with the Danish Cultural Association of Copenhagen, according to the statement.

The international immersion programme will provide an opportunity for working professionals to engage with Scandinavian approaches on sustainability, innovation, and governance.

“The programme follows a blended learning format, combining interactive online sessions with three on-campus immersive modules in Amritsar and an international experience in Denmark,” IIM Amritsar said.

“The Denmark immersion, delivered through a structured executive bootcamp, places participants within a distinct business ecosystem, offering direct exposure to models of sustainable growth, innovation-led enterprises and collaborative governance frameworks,” it added.

Moreover, the curriculum also includes 750 hours of engagement through live virtual instruction and in-person learning.

The EMBA’s curriculum will be delivered across six terms. “It progresses from foundational areas covering people, markets and analytics to advanced themes in strategy, transformation and leadership,” the institute said.

“Participants may further specialise through electives in Marketing and Communications, Finance, Accounting and Control, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources, Quantitative Methods and Operations Management, Strategic Management and Economics and IT and Computational Systems,” it added.
