IIM Calcutta launches Centre of Excellence in entrepreneurship, innovation to promote job creation
IIM Calcutta: The ‘Lalit Mohanka and Madan Mohanka Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation’ is funded by a renowned Kolata-based industrialist Madan Mohanka.

NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) announced the launch of a new ‘Lalit Mohanka and Madan Mohanka Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and
Innovation’, on campus. The centre is being funded by Madan Mohanka, a renowned industrialist and entrepreneur of Tega Industries in Kolkata. The agreement has been signed today on August 9.
The main objective of the Centre of Excellence is to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem that promotes national economic growth and job creation. The mission is to make India a global leader through education, technology, research, and leadership, the institute said.
It will also host globally renowned researchers, scholars, educators, professionals, and practitioners to participate in research and share their findings for entrepreneurship development. The innovation centre will also host special participants from highly educated groups of people for discussions on various themes, it added.
Students pursuing doctoral programmes at IIM Calcutta will also get an opportunity to interact with senior academicians and professionals during the events hosted by the centre.
