CAT aspirants have started visiting the allotted examination centres for slot 2. CAT exam 2021 slot 2 will take place from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. IIM Ahmedabad conducted CAT 2021 exam for slot 1 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
Here is CAT exam review of Slot 1 by Sumit Singh Gandhi, CEO Director CATKing, "It was a Logical CAT, IIM Ahmedabad played its part to select the best management students. Selection of questions played a key role while attempting. Overall the exam was Doable not very tough when compared to 2020 with DILR was a little time consuming and lengthy. VARC was more inference based.
Overall it had 66 Questions and I am proud this is what I had predicted and our students gave 6 practice mocks of total 66 questions in last 2 months CAT 2021 tested students not on Speed but Logic and Analytical skills, a sincere student with well rounded preparation of concepts and a good practice of mocks would make their way to the IIMs . CAT tested students on their actual knowledge instead of mere guesswork. The reduction in questions from CAT 2020 helped students have a better time allocation and not have a crisis."
As per the candidates, CAT DILR was doable. There were 2 sets of 4 questions each and the other 2 sets of 6 questions each. One of the DI sets was doable.
As per a student who appeared in CAT 2021 slot 1 exam, the questions on VARC were moderate as compared to QA and DILR.
One of the students who wrote the slot 1 CAT exam said he found the Quantitative Aptitude (QA) section easy. In terms of difficulty, the paper was "average", he added.
The students who appeared in CAT 2021 slot 1, say that the exam level was between moderate to difficult. The sectional time limit was 40 minutes for each CAT section with the overall CAT duration being 2 hours.
As per Varun (CAT aspirant) took first slot said- It was my first attempt and it went quite well. Englisgh section was moderate and DILR was quite time consuming. Quantitative Aptitude section was bit long and time consuming as well. As per me VARC waq easy and DILR & Quant was difficult. VARC has 24 questions and rest two sections had 20 questions each.
This year CAT aspirants had to solve 66 questions in two hours. The number of questions in the previous year's CAT was 76. Also, the distribution of questions in CAT 2021 is as follows:
