IIM Indore wins NTPC Electron Quiz National 2018

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 20: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore bagged the first position in the NTPC Electron Quiz National Finals 2018, closely followed by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela securing second and third position respectively.
Saptarshi Roy, Director-HR, P.K. Mohapatra, Director-Technical & Prakash Tiwari, Director-Operations, NTPC awarded the prizes to the winners and participants at NTPC, PMI campus.
The finale saw close competition with teams battling it out for the title till the very end. Samyak Ponangi & Shaurya Saxena from IIM Indore won NTPC Electron Quiz National Finals 2018 with a leading score of 131, Pradunma Choudhury & Anshul Roy from IIT Kanpur came second with a score of 122 and Swayambodha Mohapatra & Abhishek Patra from NIT Rourkela finished with a score of 108.
The NTPC Electron Quiz 2018 started in Patna from August 31, 2018, and saw participation from engineering and business schools across six locations in Kolkata, Lucknow, Noida, Hyderabad and Mumbai. This year, about 800 teams from various institutes encompassing 1,500 students participated in NTPC Electron Quiz. Hyderabad saw the maximum number of teams of 406, followed by Lucknow with 110 teams, Patna with 89 teams, Noida with 71 teams, Mumbai with 68 teams and Kolkata with 30 teams. K.M Prashanth, AGM (Corporate Communications) and Sujeet Varkey, AGM (HR) conducted the Regional Rounds at six locations. Kunal Savarkar who has conducted more than 1,000 quizzes in the course of 15 years of his career conducted the Finals of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2018.
NTPC Electron Quiz was first conducted in the year 2004 and since then it has been connecting with young minds with an aim to develop a healthy learning and development culture, through quizzing which is a non-conventional, yet powerful learning tool for young India.
