NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 13 : On humanitarian grounds, an official declaration has been made by IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) to slash the fee of their EPGP programme (Kochi campus) by as much as two lakhs of rupees to voice consensus with the citizens of Kerala, who have recently faced the wrath of nature in the form of worst deluge in living memory. This decision will encourage the aspirants to develop advanced managerial skills, which in turn will help evolve managerial capabilities amongst masses. With an aim to protect its students from the additional burden, Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode has decided to charge the present applicants for the academic batch of 2018-20 a fee of INR 8 lakhs.
The institute has also extended the EPGP online application deadline to October 6, 2018. Moreover, the EMAT entrance test and related Interviews have been rescheduled for October 13 and 14, 2018.
The Director of IIMK, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee said, “In the month of August, the unprecedented rains created havoc among the citizens and the economy of Kerala. In the midst of this chaos, Alumni, Staff, Students and Faculty of IIMK contributed in terms of money, belongings and manpower to help the people. Along with IIMK, many government and non-government agencies, individuals and institutions also offered help. As a proactive measure to alleviate the agony, IIM Kozhikode has trimmed down the fees by INR 2 lakhs.”
Time and again IIM-K has proved to be a socially conscious institute, as they had declared 60 supernumerary PGP seats for female candidates few weeks ago. Reportedly, Chatterjee said that the selection of these seats specifically for women will be based on a separate application and selection process to identify exceptional performers with potential for leadership positions in the industry.
