The EQUIS Accreditation is granted on various parameters, including internationalisation and global engagement, corporate and industry linkages, quality and impact research, among others.

The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) has earned EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) Accreditation for excellence in management education. The achievement has placed IIM Lucknow in the elite group of triple-accredited B-schools.
The management institute is now the 3rd IIM and the 5th college in India to earn this certification. There are a total of 231 business schools across 46 countries with EQUIS accreditation, IIM Lucknow said in an official statement.
“IIM Lucknow now holds AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS accreditations, making it a Triple Crown institution, an achievement earned by only about 1% of business schools worldwide,” the institute added.
The EQUIS accreditation is awarded after studying different parameters, which includes internationalisation and global engagement, corporate and industry linkages, quality and impact research, ethics, responsibility, and sustainability orientation, and continuous improvement and innovation in management education.

The award is administered by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the assessment takes around 12 to 24 months, the institute said.

The certification also states that the management institute’s academic quality, governance systems, students outcomes, and research environment align with international best practices.
“This recognition further reinforces IIM Lucknow’s mission to create meaningful global impact through excellence in research and innovation, and strengthens the Institute’s global reputation for international partnerships, student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research,” the institute said.
