IIM Sambalpur receives US dollar 2 million funding for incubation centre

IIM Sambalpur also signed an agreement with India Accelerator to promote entrepreneurial capacity during its 9th foundation day.
NEW DELHI: IIM Sambalpur celebrated the ninth foundation day on the theme ‘Accelerating startup’s ecosystems’. Founder of ESKYEN Ventures and Indus Capital Sushant Kumar announced to commit US dollars 2 million to the incubation centre of IIM Sambalpur. On the occasion, the institute also signed an agreement with India Accelerator to build entrepreneurial capacity on its campus.
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan who was the chief guest, in a video address, said, “IIM Sambalpur collaborates with businesses such as India Accelerator, SIDBI, and Flipkart, which foster entrepreneurs and assist in the livelihoods of local weavers and craftsmen.” He urged the students to use innovation, inclusivity, and integrity as their compass points in all their activities.
Suhant Kumar, who was guest of honour, spoke about the obstacles that companies have to overcome by primary worries such as fundraising, loan repayments, and job stability. He commended the dynamic leadership of Professor Jaiswal and his team, assuring that the project's implementation would commence shortly.
IIM Sambalpur director Mahadeo Jaiswal said, "Within eight years, IIM Sambalpur has carved a niche among the top IIMs. It aims at nurturing responsible leaders with an entrepreneurial mind set. In 2019, IIM Sambalpur achieved 50 per cent gender diversity , a milestone followed by all IIMs," he added..
He also encouraged students to adopt an innovative mindset, take prudent chances, and not be afraid to ask questions.

Hiranmaya Mahanta, CEO, i-HUB Gujarat; Arindam Mukhopadhyay, co-founder of India Accelerator; Deepak Sharma, co-founder, India Accelerator; and Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya, founder and CEO, IG Drones, were also present at the event.
