IIM Shillong inaugurates 15-Day Artist Residency Programme today

The Artist Residency Programme will allow the artists to live alongside the MBA students of the 2023 batch.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong inaugurated a 15-Day Artist Residency programme at its Umsawli campus today. The programme will feature 10 accomplished artists from different institutions across the country.
The Artist Residency Programme will allow these artists to live alongside the MBA students of the 2023 batch. The programme aims to foster a creative space where artists and students can interact, collaborate, and draw inspiration from each other.
Zeitgeist, the art, literary, quizzing, debating, and activities club of IIM Shillong, conducted the event. The inauguration ceremony was attended by D P Goyal, director of IIM Shillong; Rohit Dwivedi, Chair of Student Affairs; and Samindranath Majumdar, curator of the Artist-Residency Programme.

The Artist Residency Programme at IIM Shillong will conduct a wide range of activities that are designed to inspire and foster creativity. The programme will integrate artistic expression with business management and promote holistic learning for global business practices.
According to the institute, the discussions were done on the impact of art in our lives and its profound impact on our perspectives of the world.

D P Goyal, director of IIM Shillong said,” Art breathes life into objects and creates powerful experiences that resonate with individuals.”
Samindranath Majumdar and Rohit Dwivedi addressed the students and emphasized the importance of art through reading and developing an appreciation for aesthetics.
