IIM Udaipur, JM Financial to launch centre for research, dialogue

JM Financial Centre for Financial Research will offer access to world-class resources to scholars in finance and related disciplines.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM Udaipur) has announced that it will set up the JM Financial Centre for Financial Research in collaboration with JM Financial, a financial services group.
The centre will provide scholars with world-class resources, engage in academic research, conduct annual workshops, and industry talks, and partner with banking, finance services and insurance (BFSI) sector and regulatory bodies for action research and seminars in finance and related disciplines. The advisory board of the centre will have experts from BFSI, financial technology and academia.
IIM Udaipur will also conduct studies on areas that are mutually agreed between the institution and JM Financial. It may also offer an elective course on M&A programme or other areas in the MBA.
The centre has been supported by JM Financial as part of its CSR initiative. The firm will also award the JM Financial Merit Award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh to the best finance student of the IIM Udaipur MBA programme.
IIM Udaipur Ashok Banerjee said, “IIM Udaipur is thankful to JM Financial for supporting the institute’s endeavour to conduct cutting-edge, high-quality research. IIM Udaipur always believes in industry-academia partnerships to foster industry-relevant research and teaching.”

Commenting on the collaboration, JM Financial Limited non-executive vice-chairman Vishal Kampani said, “It’s a privilege for us to collaborate with Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, one of the premier management institutes of the country. We are hopeful that the JM Financial Centre for Financial Research at IIMU will act as an intersection of academia and industry and deliver actionable research-driven insights and resources.”
