IIMA Placements: Students bag 32 jobs in consulting on day 1
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the IIMA will conduct the entire placement process virtually this year.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad began its final placement drive for the batch of the postgraduate programme of 2019-2020 on Tuesday.
On the first day of IIMA placement drive, Boston Consulting Group alone made 32 job offers including pre-placement offers closely followed by McKinsey which made 30 job offers.
In the first phase, firms from sectors like investment banking and markets, management consulting, advisory consulting and private equity, venture capital and asset management participated.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the institute will conduct the entire placement process virtually this year. The IIMA placements are done through a “cluster-cohort system” where recruiters offering similar profiles are grouped into a cohort.
The second and third stage of IIMA placements will be conducted on March 5 and March 8, respectively.
IIMA Placement offers
In the finance sector, financial service company, Nomura, made seven offers to IIMA students followed by Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, each offering five job opportunities. Students also bagged roles in offshore consulting and finance companies in the Middle East and Singapore.
Other recruiters included Accenture Strategy, American Express, Analysys Mason, Arthur D. Little, Avendus, Citi, Credit Suisse, GEP Consulting, IBM, Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman, Praxis, and the Xander Group among others.
At IIM Banglore placement drive , the students bagged offered 481 job offers with the consulting sector alone hiring 165 students.
