NEW DELHI: Students of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad received the highest number of job offers in the analytics and IT consulting domain on the last day of the final placement drive.
The 2021 batch of the postgraduate programme received 14 job offers by the Tata Consultancy Service followed by Ola Cabs with six jobs including pre-placement offers.
This year, the institute conducted the placement process in virtual mode due to the ongoing pandemic. Companies were invited to hire students based on the “cluster-cohort system” at the IIMA placement drive.
On the final day, six cohorts including analytics and IT consulting, BFSI, consumer tech and core manufacturing and infrastructure among others recruited students.
Students of the postgraduate programme in food and agribusiness management or PGP-FABM were hired by 32 recruiters.
The batch was offered jobs in various sectors including Agri inputs and services, food and Agri consulting, Agri commodity trading, agritech, logistics and supply chain.
Students were also hired in other domains like food processing, e-commerce, retail, biomedical and pharmaceuticals.
The virtual placement drive at IIMA saw the participation of regular recruiters like Reliance, Cloudtail, Udaan, Nestle and Hester Bioscience. These firms also extend multiple pre-placement offers to the students.
This year, companies like Mahindra Logistics, IFFCO Group, Grant Thornton, Jio Platform etc also recruited IIMA students.
The students were also hired in various start-ups working in the AgriTech, e-commerce and Retail domain such as DealShare, Agri10x, Intello Labs, Ninjacart, DeHaat and Fresh VnF.
