IIT alumni launches eduride portal to help JEE Main and NEET aspirants reach exam centre

NEW DELHI: The alumni associations of IIT Delhi, Bombay and Madras have jointly launched an online web portal to help JEE Main and NEET 2020 aspirants reach their exam centres. Through this portal called eduride , candidates can register online or call at the listed number to request for the ride to their exam centre.
Several JEE Main and NEET aspirants had put their concerns through social media about their inability to reach the exam centres due to unavailability of transport services. IIT Delhi director Ramgopal Rao took the matter to his concern and asked the alumni association to come up with measures to help students reach the exam centres. The effort, initially started by IIT Delhi alumni association (IITDA) later joined by the IIT Bombay and Madras as well as independent volunteers.
How to request for a ride?

Candidates have to visit the website www.eduride.in and register yourselves as a "Student". Enter the details of your exam centre and raise a request for a ride.

Alternately, JEE Main candidates can call 93113 23756 between 10am to 5pm, Monday, 31st August for requesting the ride
How can people volunteer to help JEE, NEET candidates?
Alumni of IITs or independent volunteers who want to help JEE Main and NEET aspirants in reaching their exam centres can register at www.eduride.in as "IIT Alumni/ Volunteer". Volunteers have the option of either taking the candidates to the exam centre or donating to facilitate cab service.
The entire eduride portal is led by Rohit Koshy, Past President, IITDAA and Sanskar Jain, IIT Bombay Alumnus. Other members include Kalpen Shukla, Shantanu Mathur, Mukul Singla, Amit Grover, Sanjay Kedia, Parmesh Ranjan, Saksham, all IITD alumni and a team of IIT Madras alumni led by Swadeep Pillarisetti.
JEE Main 2020 is scheduled to be conducted from September 1 to 6 while NEET 2020 will be conducted on September 13.
