Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi has received a contribution of $1.6 million from alumnus member Dev Goswami. Graduated in 1974 from the department of mechanical engineering, Goswami’s donation will support the construction of the ‘Dev & Vardhana Goswami Lecture Hall Complex’ to improve students' learning environment and academic infrastructure.

According to the official IIT BHU statement, the complex was formally inaugurated by Goswami and his wife, Vardhana Goswami, marking a momentous occasion in the history of IIT BHU.

The IIT BHU lecture hall complex is designed to meet needs of undergraduate (UG), postgraduate(PG), and doctoral students. The lecture hall featured three floors of modern classrooms and collaborative learning spaces, accommodating up to 1,850 students. The hall includes smart boards, high-speed Wi-Fi, group study areas, acoustic optimization, and ergonomic seating, improving the student learning experience at IIT BHU.
