Self-finance candidates applying for the IIT Bombay MPP without a GATE score should have completed qualifying degree two-year prior to the admission date.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will close the registration window of IIT Bombay Master of Public Policy (MPP). IIT Bombay will conduct the written examination and interview for MPP admission on May 6 to 8. The MPP programme is also open to self-finance candidates and in-service candidates without a GATE score.
Candidates applying for IIT Bombay MPP programme should have a two-year master's, a four-year bachelor's in commerce and arts, or an LLB programme degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA grade from an institution or deemed university recognised by the AICTE, UGC, or AIU.
Applicants who have a two-year MSc/MS/MTech degree, a four-year BSc/BS/BTech/BArch degree, MBBS degree or equivalent qualification should have secured a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD will get 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks. Equivalent degrees must be certified by their respective institutions.
Applicants admitted in the teaching assistantship (TA) category will receive a monthly fellowship. Candidates applying for the TA category should have a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score.

In-service candidates working in government organisations or a public sector undertaking will have to ensure that their organisation will permit them to pursue the IIT Bombay MPP programme. Candidates with a valid GATE score are also eligible to apply for the self-finance seats. They can also apply for teaching or research assistantships through project (TAP/RAP) positions.
Candidates applying for self-finance without a valid GATE score should have completed their qualifying degree at least two years prior to their possible date of admission to the MPP programme.
