IIT Bombay has opened the admissions for its online PG diploma programme. Candidates who will complete the course will receive an e-alumni status.

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has partnered with an edtech platform Simplilearn and launched an online Post Graduate Diploma (ePGD) in digital governance. The 24-month diploma course is designed for working professionals with work experience in tech, governance, and public policy. The programme is aimed to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of digital governance and its role across public and private sector ecosystems.
Eligible candidates can apply for the ePGD programme through the official website at simplilearn.com/iit-bombay-epgd-digital-governance-course.
As per the eligibility criteria, candidates with diverse academic and industry backgrounds with relevant work experience can apply for the online PG Diploma programme.

Those who will complete the course will receive e-alumni status from IIT Bombay and gain access to the institute’s professional learning domain, the engineering institute said in an official statement.
Explaining the role of AI in digital governance, Ashank Desai, vice-chairman of the Governing Board of the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) at IIT Bombay, said: “In the present AI era, as digital transformation accelerates, governance increasingly requires navigating complex legal, ethical, economic and institutional considerations. The course has been carefully crafted to ensure key learning outcomes concerning analytical frameworks and governance perspectives to address these challenges”
Kashyap Dalal, co-founder and COO of Simplilearn, said: “This course will enable learners to master digital governance by integrating technology, policy, and regulation, preparing them to lead digital transformation across sectors”.
The e-PGD programme is a fully online course for working professionals. The pedagogy will include live online interactive sessions, designed to provide in-depth, application-oriented learning.
“The curriculum is intended for professionals driving digital transformation, government and public sector stakeholders in digital governance, as well as legal, policy, academic and consulting professionals working across technology regulation and large-scale digital initiatives,” IIT Bombay said.
Candidates will be taught about digital governance frameworks, technology policy, cybersecurity governance, platform regulation, digital transformation and emerging regulatory approaches in the age of AI and algorithmic systems.
