Giving a glimpse of their lecture, the IIT Delhi team said: “One of the fundamental challenges of the human race is to understand nature in all its manifestations. This includes objects as large as galaxies and stars to the fundamental particles like the electrons. Over the past several centuries, our understanding has undergone a process of steady evolution. This talk will attempt to retrace the important steps in this progression and eventually lead to our understanding today.”
The 3rd SciTech Spins lecture titled “Materials that Matter” accompanied by laboratory demonstrations was delivered on November 20, 2021.
A Class 8 student named Gauri Garg, who attended the 3rd lecture wrote a note to one of the professors after the talk saying, “I enjoyed this online session and want to thank you for making learning tough concepts so simple, entertaining and engaging. When I joined the session, my mother told me that the topic was for senior students, but once you started talking, I could understand it quite easily. The examples that were taken up were also very exciting. I loved it when you connected the concepts to the science taught in my class.”
