IIT Gandhinagar celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti; Exhibition on his contributions held

IIT Gandhinagar students and staff also created a portrait of Babasaheb Ambedkar, using 625 Rubik's cubes, in the two-day long celebrations.
NEW DELHI: Students, staff members and residents of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti on the campus premises on April 13 and 14, 2023. A statement from the institute said that various events were held under the two-day long celebrations, which included webinars, singing performances, poem recitation, creation of Babasaheb Ambedkar's portrait using as many as 625 Rubik's cubes and an exhibition of his books.

A movie was also screened on the occasion, which highlighted the life and legacy of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Assistant professor at the department of social work at SNDT women's university, Mumbai, Hemangi Kadlak was also present during the celebrations, who delivered the webinar titled "Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's perspective on the emancipation of women". Mahi Ghane, a rap artist, staged a singing performance after this.
Following this, an open mic session was organised, where the participants delivered speeches centred on Babasaheb Ambedkar.
On the last day of the programme on April 14, an exhibition was put up, where a book stall had also been laid. The exhibition underlined the life of Bhimrao Ambedkar, in which his contributions towards social justice, equality and nation-building were highlighted.
