IIT Guwahati launches North East Research Conclave roadshow across NE states

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati launched the North East Research Conclave (NERC) 2022 Road Show at the campus. The slogan for the Road Show was “Let’s Research towards Sustainable Society.” It will visit the academic institutions across all the North Eastern States for conducting NERC 2022 Road Shows in their respective institutions.
The Conclave will host around 3,000 eminent personalities from the eight North-East States as well as other parts of India and will be held from May 20 to 22, 2022.

“NERC 2022 offers the best platform for academia and industry to showcase their expertise, products, and technology innovations on mission mode. Thus, the conclave is expected to benefit all in terms of setting up long-term collaboration for research and development innovations towards the goal of establishing R&D innovation-based sustainable NE India,” said an official statement from IIT Guwahati.

Under the Chief Patronship of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Co-Chief Patronship of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the North-East Research Conclave (NERC-2022) will be organized jointly by the IIT Guwahati, the Science, Technology and Climate Change Department, and the Department of Education, Government of Assam.

Participants from various sectors such as Industry, Academia, Start-Ups, Research Councils, PSUs, laboratories, and Technical Institutes including Schools and colleges of the North East Region have been invited.
NERC 2022 Mission
- To create a common interface for collaboration and showcase the best R&D activities through the exhibition from all the educational/research institutions and industries across the states of North-East India,
- To create an environment conducive to the development of local indigenous technologies and innovations, creating the scope and laying the foundation for the promotion of Translational Research and entrepreneurship
- To help the country achieve the goals of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
