IIT Hyderabad to host IInvenTiv 2024 on January 19-20; top 120 innovations to be showcased

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) will host the second edition of IInvenTiv 2024, a mega Research and Development (R&D) innovation fair, on January 19 and 20, 2024. Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the event.
IInvenTiv-2024 is organised for top higher educational institutions to showcase the impact of research and innovation carried out by them. The institute invites state institutions, institutes, and companies to “work together to improve the development and accessibility of innovations at the grassroots level”.
The two-day research and development fair has invited 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) as well as National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bangalore), and the top 50 engineering colleges ranked under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). A total of 53 technical institutes will also be participating.

IInvenTiv 2024 theme
This year, the event will focus on five domains in accordance with Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat. The five domains are affordable healthcare, agriculture and food processing, sustainable technologies including climate change, e-mobility, clean energy, defence and space, and industry 4.0.
The institute will also showcase the top 120 selected projects across these five domains in their designated booth during the two-day fair.
IInvenTiv 2024 event plan
IIT Hyderabad director BS Murty said: “I am confident that industry participants attending IInvenTiv-2024 would join hands with the inventors of these technologies towards their commercial realisation to make India not only Atmanirbhar but also a global player in most of these areas and a global leader in at least some of them.”
On day 1, industry participants will be granted exclusive access for active engagement with innovations. The fair will be open to the public on the second day to witness the latest breakthroughs in technology and research led by the top institutes of the country.
During a press conference held at IIT Hyderabad, chairman of the IInvenTiv-202, BVR Mohan Reddy, along with IIT Hyderabad director B S Murty, NIT Warangal director Bidyadhar Subudhi, and IIIT Hyderabad director PJ Narayanan, unveiled insights about the upcoming R&D fair.
