NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad phase-1 placements 2021-22 saw a total of 466 job offers including 34 international offers from 104 recruiters. The phase-1 of campus placements was held online between December 1 to 7. Over 650 students of IIT Hyderabad have registered for placements this year.
The top recruiters include Flipkart, Indeed, Infurnia, JP Morgan, Meesho, Microsoft NTT AT, Newzera, Silicon Labs, Suzuki Motor Corp, TSMC and Zomato.

For phase-1, 210 companies participated in the placement drive while 116 companies had registered last year. A total of 195 companies had registered in the whole of last year (2020-21).
Including the pre-placement offers (PPOs) accepted by students, around 427 students have already been placed in the ongoing phase-1 placements while 305 students (including 49 PPOs) had been placed in the entire placement process last year.

The inaugural batch of interdisciplinary MTech programmes at the institute such as MTech in Smart Mobility has seen a 100% placement within the first week of the placement process. The number of students choosing semester-long internships has also more than doubled to 33 this year from last year’s 12.
Several India-based startups and organizations are among the top recruiters this year. 10 start-ups have offered 36 offers this year. The highest package is 65 lakh, and the average package is 23 lakh as of now for the ongoing phase-1 placements at IIT Hyderabad.
This phase-1 placements commenced with 82 PPOs as compared to 49 PPOs last year. Phase-2 placements will begin in January 2022.

Students received 34 international offers till date from 7 companies across 2 countries (Japan and Taiwan) while they received 30 international offers from 8 companies in 2020-21 placements.

The various initiatives taken in the last two years like Semester-long Internship for BTech, Interdisciplinary MTech, Industry lectures, industry-defined MTech projects & so on, have started yielding results and we will continuously improvise on it.”
