IIT JAM 2021 to be organized by IISc Bangalore; Check details

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore) has been announced as the conducting body of Joint Admission Test for M.Sc programmes (JAM) 2021. This is for the first time, IISc Bangalore will be organizing IIT JAM exam. The schedule of IIT JAM 2021 examination has not been announced yet.
JAM examination is conducted for admission to M.Sc programmes, Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-UG Degrees programmes offered at the participating IITs and Integrated PhD Degree programmes offered at IISc Bangalore.
The scores of JAM examination are used for admission to M.Sc programmes offered through Centralized Counselling for M.Sc/M.Sc (Tech) Admission (CCMN) at 19 NIT’s and 2 CFTI’s. IIT Delhi also offers admission to M.Sc Cognitive Science based on JAM scores, which is otherwise done with the help of Cognitive Science Joint Entrance Test (COGJET).
IIT JAM is conducted in 69 cities within eight zones across the country. These eight zones of IIT JAM are IT Roorkee, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IISc Bangalore, IIT Kanpur and IIT Guwahati.
JAM 2020 was conducted by IIT Kanpur on February 9. The closure of IIT JAM 2020 admission will be done on September 4. IIT JAM 2021 is also expected to be conducted sometime around the month of February 2021 based on previous years' trend.
The previous years organizing institutes of IIT JAM are IIT Kanpur (JAM 2020), IIT Kharagpur (JAM 2019), IIT Bombay (JAM 2018), IIT Delhi (JAM 2017), IIT Madras (JAM 2016), IIT Guwahati (2015), IIT Kanpur (2014), IIT Delhi (2013), IIT Bombay (2012) and IIT Delhi (JAM 2011).
