IIT Kanpur launches 4 online MTech programmes in AI, ML for working professionals; admission via GATE score

IIT Kanpur Online Programmes 2026: The online PG programmes include Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, construction engineering, project management, smart grid, and sustainable energy technologies.
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has launched four online MTech programmes for the 2nd cycle of admissions 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the online MTech courses at online.iitk.ac.in and the classes will begin from September 2026.
The online postgraduate (PG) programmes include Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, construction engineering, project management, smart grid, and sustainable energy technologies.
The online MTch programmes are designed for working professionals and graduates. The courses aimed to address industry demands across intelligent systems, infrastructure, clean energy and next-gen power networks
IIT Kanpur Online MTech Admissions 2026: Eligibility, selection process
The duration of the online courses is from two to 4 years. As per the eligibility, candidates must have a minimum CPI of 5.5 or 55% marks in bachelor’s degree.
Candidates will be selected for IIT Kanpur’s online MTech programmes through online entrance test, followed by department-level assessment or interview.
Those with a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score and experienced professionals may be exempted from the entrance test, IIT Kanpur said in a tweet on its official X account.

, the institute in March 2026, announced that it has prepared questions to conduct an aptitude test format for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.
In addition, IIT Bombay has announced the launch of its summer programmes for school students. The summer course will help school students to learn through practical activities, innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary subjects.
