IIT Kanpur announces e-Masters degree programmes for professionals; Know eligibility, fee

IIT Kanpur informed candidates that the admission will be based on direct selection and that the GATE score is not required to be eligible for the programme.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has launched four new postgraduate programmes through virtual learning for working professionals. These four I IT Kanpur e-Masters programmes include courses in Communication Systems; Cybersecurity; Power Sector Regulation, Economics & Management; and Derivative Markets and Risk Management.
Interested candidates should apply for the IIT K e-Master programme before October 26, 2021, by paying an application fee of Rs 1,500.
Candidates will be selected based on the application submitted by them, selection test and interview. IIT Kanpur informed candidates that the admission will be based on direct selection and that the GATE score is not required to be eligible for the programme.

“Apart from weekend-only live interactive sessions coupled with self-paced learning components, the program also offers on-campus visits to IIT Kanpur covering lab visits, lab sessions, and demonstrations as applicable. Programs are completely course-based with no thesis requirement,” the university said on the official website.

IIT Kanpur e-Master programme: Eligibility criteria
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree (4 years program) or a Masters Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks or 5.5/10 CPI.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience (You need not be currently employed to be eligible).
- Candidates with relevant experience will be preferred.

Note: Candidates must note that the IIT Kanpur will be providing an exclusive Rs 2,00,000 Scholarship for January 2022 batch. “Adjust your Scholarship against the fee payable from the 4th Quarter,” the institute said.
