IIT Kanpur, Citadel Securities establish an advanced GPU research lab

The partnership aims to build a translational and transformative training and investigations lab (T3i Lab) at the science and engineering department of IIT Kanpur.
NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in partnership with Citadel Securities, will build the translational and transformative training and investigations Lab (T3i Lab). The lab will be part of the computer science and engineering department at the institute.
The T3i lab will be supported by Citadel Securities' CSR grant, which aims to improve access to technical and computing education. The lab will also provide students with access to research facilities and graphics processing units (GPUs), a resource that is costly and in high demand in India.
“The T3i Lab will focus on improving research and education in high-performance computing, translational AI, data science, data visualization, machine learning, and intelligent systems.” the IIT Kanpur statement said.
As per IIT Kanpur’s official press release, the lab will also promote innovation in computer architecture design and hardware security and support IIT Kanpur and its students at the forefront of research and development in these areas.

IIT Kanpur’s T3i Lab
The collaboration establishes IIT Kanpur to empower students and other researchers to solve real-world problems through enhanced technology.
