IIT Kanpur launches 3 eMasters degree programmes in economics, finance; GATE score not required

IIT-K: GATE 2023 scores are not required for these programmes. The weekend-only live interactive classes come with a flexible completion timeline of 1-3 years.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has launched new eMasters degree programmes in - Economics, Finance and Public Policy; Economics, Finance and Data Analysis; and Economics and Finance in Business. Interested candidates can apply till December 4, 2022.
These three new programmes designed by the Department of Economic Sciences of IITK will help professionals build expertise in developing futuristic public policies, strategic decision-making skills, and gaining business intelligence and decision-making perspectives, IIT Kanpur said in a statement.
The institute said that the eMasters degree programme in Economics and Finance in Business will equip professionals with a practical understanding of financial concepts, economic tools, and pricing mechanisms with a core emphasis on business finance.
The eMasters degree programme in Economics, Finance and Data Analytics on the other hand will help professionals deepen their understanding of economics and finance with strong exposure to quantitative economics and data analysis.
The Economics, Finance, and Public Policy programme will help professionals build relevant knowledge and capabilities integral to dynamic policy planning and implementation process, it added.
The weekend-only live interactive classes come with a flexible completion timeline of 1-3 years. Moreover, selection into these programmes doesn’t require a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score.

“World-class faculty and experts from the forefront of cutting-edge research at IIT Kanpur teach the 60-credit, 12-module industry-focused curriculum. The programmes also offer a credits transfer facility where a waiver of up to 60 credits can be transferred for higher education (MTech/PhD) at IIT Kanpur,” it said.
The programmes gives professionals access to IIT Kanpur’s placement cell, incubation cell, and alumni network, leading to successful career advancement and networking experience.
They also get to visit the IIT Kanpur campus to interact with their fellow peers and the esteemed faculty. After successful completion, the learners get senate-approved degrees through a convocation.
