Working professionals, applying for eMasters programme in Cybersecurity on emasters.iitk.ac.in, will not require GATE score.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has started the registration process for eMasters programme in Cybersecurity on the official website, emasters.iitk.ac.in. Students applying for the IIT Kanpur’s eMasters programme in Cybersecurity don’t require to clear the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
The IIT Kanpur’s computer science and engineering department has designed the curriculum to meet the needs of executives. The selected students will have the flexibility to complete the industry-focused curriculum, spanning 60 credits across 12 modules, within one to three years. Admission to the program is based on candidates' academic and professional backgrounds
Students will have the opportunity to attend live interactive classes on weekends, alongside self-paced learning. The participants will also benefit from the credits transfer option, enabling the waiver of up to 60 credits for further education (MTech/PhD) at IIT Kanpur. The students will also get access to IIT Kanpur's extensive resources, including the placement cell, incubation cell, and alumni network, providing unparalleled career advancement and networking opportunities.
The programme has been started to prepare cybersecurity professionals to navigate the ever-evolving cyber threat landscape, helping professionals build capabilities for understanding the cyber threats, vulnerabilities and risks posed by cyber threat actors to their organisational network and business functions.
The curriculum has been designed to train students in application security, machine learning based security tooling, and relevant topics in computer science such as operating systems, networking and mathematics relevant to cybersecurity. The curriculum has been designed by IIT Kanpur’s cyber security research and technology innovation hub C3iHub.
Sandeep K Shukla, programme coordinator, eMasters in Cybersecurity, said, "Massive digitisation across sectors and industries has led to an increasing focus on cybersecurity and a demand for professionals trained in relevant skills. The eMasters in Cybersecurity will equip professionals with the advanced skills and in-depth knowledge needed to combat the escalating threats of cyberattacks and safeguard critical information infrastructure."
