IIT Madras introduces summer fellowship 2026; offers Rs 15,000 stipend

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has started accepting applications for its Summer Fellowship Programme 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship programme on the official website, iitm.ac.in, by March 2. The programme offers Rs 15,000 stipend for each month.
IIT Madras summer fellowship 2026 will commence on May 18 and continue till July 17, for two months. Students will be offered a hostel and mess facility on a payment basis, subject to availability.
However, students from IITs are not eligible to apply for the fellowship programme.
IIT Madras summer fellowship 2026 programme of two months with a stipend is designed to spread awareness for academic research among engineering, management, sciences and humanities students through a goal-oriented internship, the official website of IITM said.
Candidates pursuing engineering undergraduate programmes and are in their 3rd year, or 3rd or 4th year of an integrated or dual degree in masters programme can apply for the IIT Madras’s fellowship programme.

The list of required documents for the application is as follows.
- Passport Size Photo
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Aadhar Card
- Bonafide letter stating that you are a bona fide student issued by the head ofthe institution
- Academic certificate and mark sheet starting from 10th, 12th, polytechnic and all semester mark sheets in a single consolidated PDF
