IIT Madras to open JAM 2024 modification window on November 20; important dates

The IIT Madras will scrutinise the Joint Admission Test for Masters programmes (JAM 2024) applications to verify the data entered by the candidates. In case of defects in the application, these will be marked and intimated to the candidate on the registered email and mobile number through SMS. The students will have to modify the defects within the stipulated time.
The status of an JAM 2024 application will be updated after the receipt and re-scrutiny of the application. “Failing to rectify the defects within the stipulated time can lead to the rejection of the application,” the examination authority said.
JAM 2024 admit card
The JAM 2024 exam will be conducted on February 11, 2024, for around 3,000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year 2024-25. The JAM 2024 admit card will be available on the official website, jam.iitm.ac.in, on January 8, 2024. The JAM 2024 result will be out on March 22, 2024
The JAM 2024 exam will be held for seven subjects – chemistry, geology, mathematics, biotechnology, economics, mathematical statistics and physics. The examination authority said for each test paper, an all India rank (AIR) will be assigned to all candidates based on their performance.
JAM 2024: Tie-breaker criteria
In case of a tie, candidates with less negative marks will get the seat. If the tie still persists then it will be resolved by marks secured in numerical answer type (NAT) questions followed by multiple select question (MSQ) marks. If the tie is still not broken, the older candidate will get the seat.
The JAM 2024 Scorecard indicating the AIR and the mark obtained by the candidate will be available for download from the JAM 2024 website from April 02, 2024 to July 31, 2024 for qualified candidates.
