IIT Madras Zanzibar Admissions 2026: Applications open for UG, PG; how to apply

IIT Madras Zanzibar Application 2026: Admission to the MTech and MA programmes will be through a screening test. The BS exam is on June 6, and the MTech exam is on April 26
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) Zanzibar has opened registrations for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including MTech and Bachelor of Science (BS) courses for 2026. Eligible students can apply for these IIT Madras Zanzibar UG courses on the official website, iitmz.ac.in, until April 30.
As per the schedule, the IIT Madras Zanzibar PG admission form will close on April 15. The IIT Madras Zanzibar application form 2026 will be available only online. To complete the registration, candidates will have to pay an IITM ZST application fee of Rs 1,500 or USD 20.
The screening test for BS will be conducted on June 6, while the MTech test will be held on April 26 across 35 exam centres. The exam will be 3 hours long, from 2 pm to 5 pm IST and from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm East Africa Time.
The admit card for the test will be issued about three weeks before the exam date. The screening test will be in English and will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs), multiple select questions (MSQs), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
IITM Zanzibar Admission 2026: Eligibility criteria
Candidates who have completed a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, or a master’s degree in Science with Mathematics as one of the subjects, are eligible to apply for the IITM Zanzibar PG admission 2026.
Candidates who have completed a Class 12 or equivalent with compulsory subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply for the IITM Zanzibar UG admission 2026.
Any other academic or career background approved by the IITM Zanzibar Steering Committee is also acceptable. There is no age limit for the MTech in Data Science and AI programme.
The interview for IIT Madras Zanzibar UG and PG admissions will be held in mid-June 2026 for BS and early May 2026 for MTech.
