IIT Mandi launches five-year integrated MBA programme in data science, artificial intelligence

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has introduced a five-year integrated Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. The programme offered by the School of Management is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of management. It also imparts skills in analytics, data science, mathematics, and statistics through a carefully curated curriculum.

The integrated MBA programme also incorporates relevant courses from various fields, including humanities, communication, and the Indian knowledge system, to ensure the complete development of its graduates. As per the institute, the programme aims to develop future business leaders with strong technology foundations and cross-functional management skills.

“During the initial years, the programme hones students’ critical thinking and creative abilities through foundational courses in management, analytics, mathematics and statistics, communication and personality development. In the later years, the programme offers several specialized courses that equip students with the skills required to apply technology across the functional areas of management,” the institute said.

The program offers students an opportunity to obtain a master’s degree in management immediately after completing their Class 12 from a top-tier institute in the country. The integrated MBA programme combines relevant courses from management sciences, analytics, data science, artificial intelligence, communication, and personality development.

Two separate degrees

Upon successful completion of the full 5-year integrated MBA programme, students will be awarded two separate degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in analytics (Honors) and MBA in data science and artificial intelligence (DS, AI).

Aligned with the New Education Policy, the integrated MBA programme also offers the following exit options to students:

  • After successful completion of three years, upon exit, the candidate would be awarded a BBA analytics degree.

  • After successful completion of four years, upon exit, the candidate would be awarded a BBA analytics (honors) degree.

The curriculum is carefully crafted to encompass a diverse array of courses, ranging from management and analytics to mathematics, statistics, communication, and personality development to equip graduates with a well-rounded skill set that is highly sought after in today's dynamic business world.”
