IIT Roorkee to hold 175th foundation day on November 25
IITR will be celebrating its 175th Foundation Day with several dignitaries, students, staff, alumni, faculty attending the event on November 25.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will be celebrating its 175th year of foundation day on November 25, 2022. Speaker of Lok Sabha, Om Birla will be the chief guest of the event.
The Institute will be gathering students, alumni, faculty and staff members on the occasion. A major highlight of the event will be a Kavi Sammelan and the startup expo in which around 50 start-ups will showcase their product/ technology in the domains including robotics, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and electric vehicles among others.
Along with Om Birla, the event will be attended by Bharti Enterprises, vice chairman, Rakesh Bharti Mittal as the guest of honor and Postal service Board, chairman, secretary, Vineet Pandey.
Vineet Pandey will be revealing a commemorative stamp brought by the Deptt post for 175 years of IITR's establishment. In addition, the event will also see the release of a commemorative coin for Rs 175 and a coffee table book on the foundation day celebration event. The celebration will conclude with a drone show of the Journey of IIT Roorkee from the sky which will be visible from every house in and around Roorkee city.
IITR has held a year-long celebration that started on November 25, 2021, and will continue till November 25, 2022. BOG IIT Roorkee, chairman, BVR Mohan Reddy will be hosting a fireside chat show on November 24, 2022.
The Institute recently held the 17th quadrennial symposium on earthquake engineering gathering professionals from November 14 to 17, 2022.
