IIT Roorkee to offer new MTech programme on drinking water, sanitation

IIT Roorkee will start admission to masters programmes through Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2022 from April 11.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee’s Department of Water Resources Development and Management is going to launch a new MTech programme in drinking water and sanitation from the academic session 2022-23.

“Department of Water Resources Development and Management (DWRDM) at IIT Roorkee is starting a new MTech programme on Drinking Water and Sanitation from the academic session 2022-2023. The course structure is designed to cover broad aspects and emerging concerns related to Drinking Water and Sanitation, including Technological and Governance issues,” IIT Roorkee said in a tweet.

“This course will help (DWRDM), IIT Roorkee to develop trained human resources and conduct research in the vital subject area of drinking water and sanitation to cater to the needs of the Afro-Asian Countries, including India, which would promote sustainable development goals of the society,” it added.
The IIT Roorkee Senate in its 89th meeting held on December 9, 2021 approved the proposal of the Department of Water Resources Development and Management to introduce an MTech programme on "Drinking Water and Sanitation", according to an official notification.

IIT Roorkee will start admission to masters programmes through Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2022 from April 11. Eligible candidates can submit their admission forms on the official portal between April 11 and May 11, 2022. The institute released the JAM scorecard 2022 on March 21 at jam.iitr.ac.in.
