IITs receive highest pre-placements offers compared to previous year

NEW DELHI, August 31: With placements season yet to pick-up pace at institutions, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) students have been showered with pre-placement offers (PPOs). Reportedly, as of now most of the IITs such as Kharagpur, Delhi, BHU and Bombay have received more than 100 offers each.

In new IITs like the IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Patna, the PPOs ratio has nearly doubled as compared to the last year records.

IIT-BHU has received 113 offers so far when compared to the last year’s 101 PPOs. IIT Gandhinagar has seen a rise of nearly 50 percent than the previous years. IIT Kharagpur is seen 102 offers, IIT Delhi 108, IIT Madras with 91 offers, IIT Mandi with four offers when compared to last years placement offers these are very high.

IITs have this far recorded the highest number of PPOs being offered compared to the previous year’s placement records. With the rising competition among the companies, who takes the brightest minds with them is now a challenge. Hence, companies are now offering the PPOs to the students by alluring them with the handsome packages.

Some of the leading MNCs that have offered PPOs are Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Nutanix, Qualcomm, Tower Research, Walmart, JP Morgan, Bajaj, Citi Corp and Wipro.
