India needs a large number of entrepreneurs: Rajan Anandan, President TiE Delhi-NCR

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 30: TiE Delhi-NCR celebrated the 5th year of India Education Entrepreneurship Day 2018 to discuss the expanding entrepreneurial opportunities in education sector. Educators, edupreneurs, investors and academicians converged to throw light on the challenges, innovations, winning strategies & the way ahead for startups in the sector.

Geetika Dayal, Executive Director, TiE Delhi-NCR, said, "Year on year, through the IEED initiative, we bring to the forefront path breaking startups who are reforming education in the country along with investors who are betting big in the sector. With the presence of academicians & educators too at the event, we enable wholesome & relevant conversations adding value to the audience.”

The conference witnessed more than 30 speakers sharing guidance on successful exits, sales, marketing and challenges with respect to the current industry milieu including experts such as Sanjeev Bhikchandani (, Purnendra Kishore (Edfora), Harpreet Grover (Aon Hewitt Asia & CoCubes), Varun Saxena (CareerAnna) guiding budding entrepreneurs to chart new paths of success for themselves in the Indian Edupreneurship sector.

To conclude the event, TiE Delhi-NCR felicitated high-school students with TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) award for bringing honor to the country on a global platform. ‘Jhutpat’, an instant delivery service startup bagged the ‘Best innovation/ Maker's Faire’ title at the TYE Global competition held at Arlington, USA in June. Competing with 20 TiE teams across the world, the TiE Delhi-NCR alumni earned the recognition, & was represented by Japjot Singh at the event.
