Join Careers360 PremiumIndia Post has released the second merit list for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment 2026. Candidates who applied can check if they have qualified by downloading the merit list from the official website, indiapost.gov.in. Candidates from several states and regions, such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttarakhand and West Bengal can check the merit list PDF now.
Shortlisted candidates will have to complete document verification at their respective divisional offices by April 27, 2026. They will have to carry original documents along with two sets of photocopies to confirm their eligibility.
Through this recruitment drive, a total of 28,636 vacancies will be filled across the country. Selection is done on the basis of system-generated merit list prepared using candidates’ Class 10 marks, with grades converted into percentages up to four decimal places to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Aspiring candidates will be able to view their selected status at the official website
- Visit the official website indiapost.gov.in.
- On the homepage, look for 'GDS Online Engagement Schedule-I, January-2026' tab
- Click on "Supplementary list" for the respective states
- The second merit list PDF get downloaded
- Go through the same and save it for future references
Earlier, the first merit list was announced on March 6, and document verification concluded by March 23. Maharashtra recorded the highest number of selections, followed by Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
The department may release additional supplementary lists if vacancies remain unfilled after this round. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for further updates.
