IP University to start a postgraduate diploma in Healthcare Management

NEW DELHI: Delhi based Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is set to offer a one-year postgraduate diploma in healthcare management from this academic session.

The new programme will be run under the University School of Management Studies (USMS) in collaboration with the Association of Health Providers (AHPI).

A healthcare professional with graduate or postgraduate degree with minimum 50 percent marks will be eligible to apply for the new course. The applicants are also required to have minimum experience of one year in the healthcare sector.

Students will be selected based on their marks obtained in graduation or postgraduate and a personal interview. The academic record will be given 70 percent weightage and the personal interview will have 30 percent weighting.

There is no age restriction for the applicants for the new course. The selected candidates will be required to pay Rs 81,000 for the programme. The classes for the programme will run on weekends.

According to A K Saini, dean, USMS, the one-year course will be helpful for healthcare professionals to upgrade their skills in healthcare management.
