NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur's Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) has launched its Hindi publication division to share groundbreaking work in innovation. The primary objective of the Hindi publication division is to minimize the language barrier in accessing technical information related to the startup ecosystem and innovation. Its main purpose is to offer a platform that would enable non-English speakers to readily access and comprehend technical knowledge.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Professor Abhay Karandikar, director, IIT Kanpur; deputy director Professor S Ganesh; Professor Ankush Sharma, professor-in-charge, SIIC, IIT Kanpur; Dr Nikhil Agarwal, CEO, SIIC and AIIDE-CoE, IIT Kanpur; Professor Amitabha Bandyopadhyay, co-professor-in-charge, SIIC, IIT Kanpur and Piyush Mishra, COO and CFO, SIIC, IIT Kanpur.

The Hindi publication division aims to bridge the language gap by promoting technical translation and making technical knowledge more accessible. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the initiative fosters the dissemination of technical knowledge in Hindi.
IIT Kanpur's official notice reads: "In line with this vision, the Hindi publication division at SIIC IIT Kanpur is committed to imparting technical knowledge in Hindi. The objective is to connect with individuals throughout India and motivate them to embark on entrepreneurial pursuits, thus fostering an inclusive ecosystem. By eliminating barriers, encouraging collaboration, and igniting the entrepreneurial drive within everyone, the Hindi publication division at SIIC IIT Kanpur aims to make substantial contributions to the nation's growth and progress."

During the event, Professor Ankush Sharma, professor-in-charge, SIIC, IIT Kanpur, said, “The division remains resolute in its commitment to sharing invaluable knowledge and captivating narratives that illuminate the thriving innovation and startup ecosystem at SIIC, IIT Kanpur. Recognizing the untapped potential within grassroots communities, we work tirelessly to provide them with essential resources and opportunities, allowing them to thrive harmoniously in the ever-evolving realm of innovation”.
IIT Kanpur's release further added that the Hindi publication division of SIIC IIT Kanpur not only provides access to technical knowledge in Hindi but also fosters innovation and entrepreneurship within Hindi-speaking communities. By sharing groundbreaking work in Hindi, it aims to create a positive societal impact and expand the reach of innovation. Aligned with SIIC IIT Kanpur's mission, the division promotes growth, empowers local talent, and facilitates collaboration, contributing to the advancement of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in India.
