NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has activated the practice test link for Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE Adv 2024). The last date to submit JEE Advanced application form 2024 is May 7. The top 2,50,000 successful candidates in BE, BTech JEE Main paper 1 will be considered eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced exam 2024.

Recently, IIT Madras revised the JEE Advanced registration last date to May 7. As per the schedule, JEE Advanced exam date 2024 is May 26. The JEE Advanced practice test link is hosted on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. The institute has provided two mock test links to familiarize students with the question paper pattern.

The exam will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode for a duration of 180 minutes or 3 hours. Persons with less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing who opted for compensatory time will be given an extra one hour to attempt the test.

Candidates will have to enter their JEE Advanced roll number as login ID and date of birth as password on the login window while attempting the exam. They will also have an option to choose or switch from English to Hindi during the entire period of examination.

Maximum marks

Section 1

This section will have 8 questions of numerical based decimal type with answers correct to 2 decimal digits.

Marking scheme - 3 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and zero mark in all other cases

Section 2

This section will carry 6 multiple select questions.


Marking scheme - Full marks of 4 will be awarded if all the correct options are selected.


Partial marks: 3 marks will be granted if all the four options are correct but only three correct options are chosen.


Partial marks: 2 marks will be given if only 2 out of 3 options are chosen.


Partial marks: 1 mark if only 1 out of 2 correct options are selected.


Zero mark: No mark will be given if the question is not answered.


Negative marks: -2 marks will be deducted in all other cases.

Section 3

This section will have matching list sets

Marking scheme - 3 marks will be given to each correct answer.


No marks will be awarded for unattempted question


One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer
