NEW DELHI: A new syllabus was announced for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) on Wednesday. JEE Advanced 2023 will follow the new syllabus, now posted at the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. The exam is an entrance test for the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The exam is conducted in three subjects, physics, chemistry and mathematics, and the JEE Advanced 2023 syllabus for all three has been announced. The physics section is divided into general, mechanics, thermal physics, electricity and magnetism, electromagnetic waves, optics and modern physics. The chemistry syllabus is divided into over three dozen sections and the mathematics one into nine.

The JEE Advanced syllabus announced today is not for candidates appearing for the exam in 2022.
To be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced, candidates have to first qualify the JEE Main, a national-level entrance exam for engineering, including for centrally-run institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). Only the top 2.5 lakh rank holders in the JEE Main are eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced.
JEE Advanced 2021 was held on October 3 and the result was declared on October 15. Mridul Agarwal from Jaipur, in the IIT Delhi zone, was the topper this year.
