JEE Main 2018 Result to be announced by 6 pm, says CBSE

NEW DELHI, APRIL 30: JEE Main 2018 Result will be announced by 6 pm as per the office of the Joint Secretary, CBSE. Engineering aspirants numbering more than 14 lakhs have been anxiously waiting for the result which is set to be announced today.

The wait has been stressful and hence Careers360 called up the office of the Joint Secretary, CBSE who confirmed that the results will be out by 6 pm. Unlike reports circulating, the result for Paper I only will be announced. This was also confirmed by the same office.

JEE Main is the entrance exam for admissions to the undergraduate engineering courses offered by NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes. It is also the screening test for JEE Advanced which will be held on May 20 this year.

Candidates can know their scores, All India Ranks and category ranks after the result is announced. The qualifying cutoffs for JEE advanced will also be announced by CBSE. Candidates who score marks equal or over this cutoff will be amongst the 2,24,000 candidates eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2018. It may be noted that for admissions however, candidates need to score a minimum of 75% in their 10+2 or equivalent or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.
