JEE Main 2019: Aadhaar Card Not Mandatory For Registration

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 12: National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notice clarifying all the speculation related to Aadhaar card being mandatory for registration. NTA, the exam conducting body for JEE Main 2019 has said that Aadhaar card is not mandatory while filling the application process, it is only one of the types of identification.

Students can also enter their Passport number, Ration Card number, Bank Account number or any other valid Government identity number while filling the application form of JEE Main 2019. The online application form which is being filled in currently also clearly provides for entering any valid government identity number. JEE aspirants can fill the application form till September 30 in online mode. The entrance exam, JEE Main January session will be conducted from January 6 to 20, 2019 in 8 different slots.

From 2019, NTA has taken charge to conduct the national level engineering entrance exam, JEE Main. With NTA coming in, there are a lot of new changes have been introduced for JEE Main. The authority will now conduct JEE Main 2019 twice a year that too in Computer-based mode (CBT), except for Drawing section of Paper-II which will be held in pen & paper mode. The age limit cap is also removed. Candidates who have passed their class 12 in 2017, 2018 or are appearing in 2019 can apply for the entrance exam irrespective of their age.

Not only this, 1.5 lakh common service centres (CSC) have been mentioned with the help of which candidates can fill the online application, pay fees, upload documents at the nominal charges. Apart from providing the online mock test, 2697 Test Practice Centres (TPCs) have been set up across the country where students can go and attempt the mock test.

NTA will compile the scores after using the specified normalization process on the raw marks obtained by the candidates.
