NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2023 session 2 provisional answer key soon. JEE Mains session 2 exams concluded on Saturday, April 15. Candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 2023 session 2 exams between April 6 and 15 for paper 1 (BE, BTech), paper 2A (BArch) and paper 2B (BPlanning) will be able to check the JEE Main 2023 session 2 answer key on the official website -- jeemain.nta.nic.in soon.

After the provisional answer key is released, NTA will be allowing candidates to challenge the provisional answer key within a fixed time period. JEE Main 2023 result based on the final answer key. According to the JEE Main marking scheme, for every correct answer marked, four marks will be allotted and for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. In addition to this, for answers with numeric values, no negative marks will be cut in JEE Main 2023 session 2 exam.
As per experts, this year, the expected JEE Main 2023 cut-off percentile will be higher as compared to last year, as the overall paper difficulty level was easier than the previous year.

The NTA Score of a Candidate has been calculated as follows: (100 X Number of candidates appeared in the ‘Session’ with raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the candidate) / Total number of the candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’.
The response sheet in JEE Main 2023 is the candidate's answer sheet. While the IIT JEE Main session 1 result is already out, the JEE Main response sheet session 2, answer key and results will be out at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Once JEE Main 2023 session 2 provisional answer key is released, students will get to know about JEE Mains 2023 results.

JEE Main 2023 exam was held in multiple shifts and days from April 6 and 15. The NTA scores will be calculated corresponding to the raw or the actual marks secured by a candidate. The NTA scores for all the three subjects, mathematics, physics, and chemistry in addition to the total in BE, BTech of session 1 of paper 1 will be displayed in the JEE Main scorecard.
Going by previous trends, the JEE Main 2023 cut-off will likely be increased. Moreover, considering the easy and moderate nature of questions being asked in all the shifts of JEE Main 2023 session 2 exam, the JEE cut-off is expected to increase by 2-3 percentile points across all categories.
The NTA will likely announce the JEE Main 2023 result by April 30. The registration for JEE Advanced 2023 will start thereafter.

The NTA Score of a Candidate has been calculated as follows: (100 X Number of candidates appeared in the ‘Session’ with raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the candidate) / Total number of the candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’.
As many as 20 candidates have scored a 100 NTA score in BE and BTech paper of JEE Main 2023 session 1 result. The JEE Main 2023 session 1 result was declared on February 6. Among the 20 JEE Main toppers 2023 session 1, 14 candidates are from the General category, while four are from OBC-NCL and one from General EWS and one from the Scheduled Caste categories.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) in the first round of JEE Main session had withheld the results of around 50 candidates. NTA while announcing the JEE Main 2023 session 1 result said, the scores of about 50 candidates have been withheld as they are under scrutiny. The cases of these candidates, NTA added, are being placed before a committee separately. Their NTA Scores will be declared once the committee finalises its report.

The JEE Main ranks of the candidates will be released along with the JEE Mains 2023 session 2 result taking into consideration the best of the two NTA scores in line with the policy already in place. JEE Main session 1 was held in January.
The NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained. "NTA Scores are normalized scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees,” an NTA statement said.

The JEE Main passing marks 2023 are expected to be around 90 for the general category student, 78 for the EWS category, 75 for the OBC-NCL category, 54 for SC and 44 for ST.

The top 2,50,000 qualifiers of JEE Main will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2023 exam that is scheduled to be held on June 4, 2023.

NTA will allow candidates raise objections against or challenge the JEE Main 2023 provisional answer key and will then release the JEE Main 2023 session 2 final answer key.
