The JEE Main 2023 exam was held for 300 total marks. The students had to attempt 75 questions out of 90. Each question carried four marks. The correct answer will fetch four marks and marking wrong answers will result in the deduction of one mark. The 90 questions were divided into 3 sections -- physics, chemistry and mathematics. Each of these sections had sub sections (A and B). In section A all the questions were compulsory and in section B, students had to attempt any five questions out of 10.

The questions in maths were lengthy and tricky to attempt. The mathematics section consisted of mostly moderate to difficult questions.
